The Resort

Polaris World is famous for the quality and luxury of its resorts, facilities and golf courses. Hacienda Riquelme is set in spacious grounds encompassing the PGA golf course and golf facilities, large lakes, generous accommodation and swimming pools, a large central Hacienda village-complex and sports/leisure facilities. The whole resort is extremely safe for the family, with a manned main entrance and Polaris World staff providing 24 hour security services. There is a similar feel to many of the Florida resorts. As a guest you can also use the free shuttles between the resorts and so enjoy access to the full range of Polaris facilities and services. These include:

  • Restaurants;
  • Bars;
  • Supermarkets;
  • Shops;
  • Sports Facilities;
  • Children’s Play Areas;
  • Cycle Paths;
  • Health and Beauty Spas;
  • Banks;
  • Travel Agency;
  • Car Hire and Tourist Information;

All the properties are set around golf courses and separate pool complexes - all of which are available to guests. The resort of Hacienda Riquelme is one of the most spacious and benefits from the lowest density of buildings (a unique quality in Spain). There are wide open spaces and numerous lakes set around the par-72 PGA golf course.

The apartment has one of the prime locations overlooking a 25m2 pool and the fabulous 10th green. The pool is enclosed by a fence for safety and has one section of shallow steps for younger children. Nearby is a second pool with a dedicated baby pool. For children, there is also a path around the golf course and resort makes an ideal morning and evening stroll without a car in sight.

A typical day starts with an early swim in the pool, followed by a stroll to the supermarket for fresh croissants and bread, and lunchtime goodies (including heavy watermelon) and is soon followed by a hearty breakfast on the terrace. We may then spend a few hours by the pool before enjoying a lunchtime feast on the terrace. If we can stay awake in the afternoon there is the option of a round of golf, game of tennis, bike ride, shopping trip or we may even take in the beach. Our more adventurous trips are to the nearby Water Park or Zoo. In the evening there is the option of a family meal of tapas or a burger at the Wooden Hut, or eating at one of more luxurious restaurants. The Wooden Hut is a great place for evening drinks and live music, usually with the children digging in the practise golf bunkers and playing hide and seek. I can honestly say that two weeks at Hacienda Riquelme is incredibly relaxing.
